Day 4 - Kuala Lumpur
Snakes in a cave
Our last full day in Kuala Lumpur, so a good feast was in order.
We took a trip to The Pavilion food court and got stuck into some Asian delights.I had chicken curry, honey chicken and rice. Was a nice combo to start the day.
Colin had the honey chicken, lamb and rice, whilst Laura took the safe option of a nice wee cheeky cheese toasty.
Fed and ready to go............we took a taxi to Batu Caves.
We arrived at the caves and were welcomed by the massive gold Indian statue, which is supposedly the biggest statue in the world.
The caves themselves are about 270 steps above ground and at the bottom of the gates to go up were loads of wild monkeys. After taking some photos, I thought I would go buy some bananas from the local shop and feed the "friendly" wee souls.
As I proceeded with the bananas, I met Colin and Laura at a shop selling water, when I spotted a wee monkey coming towards us.I thought he had spotted the bananas so quickly hid them under my bag, however, it wasn't the bananas he had clocked.......it was a bag of crisps in the poor wee mans shop. The crisps were soon off the shelve and the monkey away back up the tree with them.
As we got out to the main platform and with the bananas on display - monkey after monkey joined us.What looked nice little creatures turned into nasty wee b*****s as they tried to claw them from me.I ended quickly throwing them to each of the ones that approached me, which seemed to keep them happy for a minute before they pounced for more J
After telling them that the bananas were "All Done" J we moved up the steps to enter the caves.
At the top of the caves were two pythons with the snake handler.
I must have taken my brave pill this morning as I wanted my picture taken with one, even though I hate snakes as much as I hate spiders.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been and am glad I done it J
Back to the caves............
They were an amazing sight.Another one of these things you will struggle to see anywhere else in the world. After taking a stroll around at the top, we made our way back down the monkey infested steps only for three monkeys to try and steal Colin's bag as he stopped to take a photo J
Batu Caves Done........time to move on and the next stop was Times Square Shopping Mall where they have an indoor theme park on the 5th and 6th floor. Was a bit strange seeing a full size rollercoaster in the middle of a shopping centre but great idea all the same J
Papa John's was on the menu tonight and we had a right old feast before we went back to China Town market for round 2 of Street Traders vs. The Scots.
