This morning I went to OPD. We got there at appox 7:30. Everything starts very early in Ghana. During this time, Sam came to say that Christian has gotten worse. I initially didn't follow as i didn't want to overcrowd him with visitors but I couldn't concentrate. So me and Ellie made our way to see him. He was pretty ill but more psychologically distressed than anything.
He needed to go home and so I spent the rest of the day tackling insurance. I had to become his new wife for them to talk to me. Nothing like a cheeky marriage to get where you need to be. I organised all of his insurance after a really stressful day with bad signal and waited for the all clear to properly sort his flights.
In the evening I went to see Chrisitan to see how he was and just for company although I imagine he should be bored of my face by now! He was a little more settled. It's pretty shocking what fear can do to a person. He is usually so calm and I am worried about him.
It's the next day now and it was a disaster. I got absolutely nowhere with insurance who have conveniently lost all his policy details and arrangements so now I am back to square one. A short argument detailing that he does have insurance and the policy is in front of me and I am finally forwarded to the claims department. Though not through insurance a flight was arranged for him. He was determined to go home and he did need to for his psychological health more than anything really. Me, Sam and Alex accompanied him to the airport. The journey there was so cold. We were talking about absolute rubbish to try and distract him but it didn't really work.
Once at the airport I felt relived as he was finally going home. Only he wasn't. His ticket was suspended. We waited in the airport for him to come back from the tickets office and his flight boarding closed. No flight tonight.
This meant a lovely hotel for us. Well lovely..
It was pretty horrific. By this time i was pretty delirous and I managed to spray 100% deet in my eye which was painful. Sam washed my eyes with a water bag. That made it better except I felt like i'd had a bath when she'd finished tbh. Soaked! The perfume tasting chicken didn't help either.
Were getting Christian home tomorrow which makes me happy.
