Today is our trip around Phuket and its been brillant, a bit more cultural than we normally do but our guide was fab! We had an early start (sorry chick another early start) went to sunset view point (has a more impressive Thai name but dipstick here cna't remember it for toffee), that was nice saw an offering to Budha with pineapples, elephants etc sounds cheesy but really cool. Off to Shell musuem which isn't our kind of thing but it was air conditioned so we coped! We went to Chalong Temple where our guide (it was just us as well) took us through how to do an offering with the lotus, incense sticks, candles, gold leafs etc - quite an experience, we'll be locals before you know it! Needless to say this temple (WAT) is important to the Thais but Ian's interest levels are heightened by the local story of some bad arse chinese dudes who get their ninja buts kicked in this local hero story by the Govenor who became their Budha We headed off to other places and the most fun was into the local food and fish market in Phuket not a tourist in site and the stuff they had; pink eggs (no not chocolate proper eggs but black stuff inside) and dragon fruit that looked dalmation colour inside and the fish - yuk. We went on to look over Phuket's bays of Pantong (where we journy to tomorrow), Karon Bay and the surrounding islands. Last stop was the gold and gem factory where Ian looks pale and faint when ever I look interested or the staff ask me to try something on - he wins no purchases made!
