SAWDEEKA...our guide today is Ya ya and we are off to Phang Pga (James Bond Island - the man with the golden gun). First stop is a rubber plantation - the sweat on starts here and we learn loads rubber comes from trees, latex runs out and it smells. Second stop is the monkey temple (sure it has a Tahi name but I can't rememer) it starts off well enough a monkey poo's on my arm from the tree's above...my new husband rewards all the monkeys by buying a shed load of food and all the monkeys swarmed it was like watching ninja's in action! The WAT (temple) was in this huge cave, with loads of Budha statues not what I expected at all with this little budha in his orange sheet - the place felt like a fun fair. Leaving the monkeys we headed on to the long boats (long boats with motor bike engines attached, well noisey) and on to James Bond Island, some caves and the national park which was fabulous. There was a query about crocodailes but Ya Ya assured us the last one sighted was still being used by her grandma as a wallet! JB Island was tourist chaos which normally means that Ian is hot, bothered and unimpressed so after feeding, watering him and making him stand for at least one cheesy picture - ned to proove he is here we moved on. We had lunch on a manmade water shanty town island - it had sharks caught in it nets for heaven sakes - I'm not swimming here! It was busy, poor and smelly but the food was good and the longboat home refreshed our lungs notto mention the fabulous coconut icecream - yum! Final stop was the cashew nut factory and gift shop - the ladies honed in on Ian and got their commission he was away (one of these and these oh these are nice). Got back to our hotel jumped in the pool, had a quiet night in with our ipod tunes, dinner by the pool and listened to the gekkos who sound like something out of ZULU at night and take a bit of getting used to! Have sprayed well with jungle juice as we are determined to come off the mosquito blood buffet tonight - we have bites all over us!
