We woke at some point - I was literally unable to reach into my pocket in the tight spot I was sleeping in - and had our last breakfast before the bus was cleared out and I had the luxury of my second shower in as many days. Imagine! Then we were on our way to historic Route 66, where we stopped for a desperate pee and a milkshake and to take a ride on easily the quirkiest car I've ever been in. And it actually still runs! Holly, Linda, Nicola and I were like minor celebrities for two minutes while bikers took photos of us on their mobile phones. Awesome.
We then drove over (well not quite) the Hoover Dam and we were soon in Vegas! We had to say goodbye to a few people including Linda and Nicola here, but we took a good group shot before the group split! With only five hours there, Holly, Ryan and I rode the rollercoaster in New York New York, then I joined Holly and Joey on a quest to get to Rio. We never got there! After an hour we settled outside Caesar's Palace and had some drinks after we bumped into a lot of the other folks. We did some slots in Caesar's before heading back down the strip past the Bellagio's water show to the Cosmopolitan, where I grabbed some video poker comp drinks and we tried to find some affordable tables. Not on a Saturday night! The cheapest table was $25, a lot higher than the just-about-affordable $10 I'd seen the Friday daytime last week. Somewhere in there we lost everyone except Nicholas and Holly, so after a few more slots we made our way back while Holly collected a good selection of hookers' advertisement cards. Lots of special offers, it seems.
