Today we left Nelson but not without our bruffins!!! Delicious breakfast muffins with egg, cheese, tomato and ham baked in. Brilliant! On our way to Greymouth we stopped off at the Seal colonies and Pancake rocks. Yep its like it sounds. Lots of seals and lots of rocks that looked like stacked pancakes. Walked around a few trails with Marty and then ran into our Aussie friends from the wine tour the day before.
I wish I could say that every part of New Zealand is absoluetly beautiful. But unfortunately there is Greymouth. It is gray, dark and full of fishing ports and factories. However, this did not stop us from having a great time. We stayed at Noah's Ark. A family owned victorian home with animal themed rooms. Our room was the pink pig room. Matt loved it! Pink walls. Pink bedding. Pictures of pink pigs on the walls and large cardboard cut outs of Babe the movie. The home had a few large sitting rooms with fireplaces. We played checkers and played with the cat then met our friends Melina and Lee from the UK. After hanging out with them for a few hours, we met up with Marty and our favorite 16 year old underage drinking German friend, Jonas, and his mother at the all you can eat sausage dinner downtown. Matt and Marty played about 15 games of pool (aka solids and stripes, bigs and smalls, dots and stripes, etc).
