Left Queenstown this morning heading west to Dunedin via Alexandra. Passed through a lot of small towns that originated from the gold rush. Stayed at On Top Backpackers in the city center. Great hostel, brand new. Roomie Dave from Canada told us great stories of his years of travel through Mynamar, Cambodia and Viet Nam. I liked Dave a lot. Matt almost killed him. Did I mention that Dave snores? After checking in, we walked, no ran, to the Cadbury factory and went on a guided tour complete with complementary goodie bag and hair net. Every room had free samples and Matt caught on that the tour guides gave out even more chocolate when we participated so he started asking tons of questions. The best part of the tour you ask? A huge silo that houses chocolate. We went inside and in the middle of the winding spiral staircase an entire ton of liquid chocolate poured down splashing chocolate on some of us. It was amazing. A chocolate waterfall.
Had sushi for dinner and then went to the movie theater to see Eagle vs. Shark with the guy from flight of the concords. The movie started at 7:45 and we arrived at 7:50p. I asked the ticket guy if we missed the beginning and he said the movie hadn't started yet because no one was there. We were the only people that bought tickets and had this cute 7 row botique theater to ourselves. Instead of previews there was a 10 minute short film on the history of the New Zealand grand prix. Fabulous. At the end we danced around in front of the projecter. If you like Napoleon Dynamite, go see Eagle vs. Shark.
