We've left Yangshou now and are waiting in Nanning to take the overnight train to Hanoi. Pretty sad to leave Yangshou, but well looking forward to Vietnam now.
Caving turned out to be HILARIOUS. We'd been given brochures on it and all the pictures advertise people in swimming stuff in mud baths and hot springs, so it looked pretty cool. On arrival we excitedly stripped down to our swimming stuff and got in the boat. The guide said nothing to us apart from when we got in the cave "oh no where are your shoes, it may hurt your feet" but we weren't too worried. We started walking through the cave and started to notice that everyone else was wearing clothes. What we hadn't realised is that for the first half you get a cave tour where they show you all the stalagtites and stalagmites etc and THEN there are changing rooms where you can change to go into the hot springs. We could not stop laughing.. so embarrassing walking past fully clothed people with hiking boots, rucksacks and torches. I walked through a cold, damp, slippery cave in MY BIKINI. Ridiculous.
On to Vietnam! xx
