We left Cairns at 7.30 for our next stop, Mission Beach. We are on a coach tour along the East coast called the OZexperience, its a club 18-30 equivalent without the sleeze. Our driver Sonic made a few stops along the way at a national park and then a crocodile farm, which was really cool.Typical aussie idiot jumping around a crocodile enclosure and we got to feed kangaroos and hold some baby crocs. Matt had his crocodile pie. We stayed at a place called Scottys on Mission Beach which was really cool, its right next to the beach. Matt hasnt been well so we spent a lot of time in our room, which is just big enough to fit the bed inside it. The main reason people go to Mission Beach is to jump out of a perfectly good plane at 14,000 feet and Matt's never one to say no. So at 7.30 am we were picked up from our hostel and driven to the air strip, got kitted up, got introduced to our nutty tandem divers and then thrown in the plane. The reason why people skydive at Mission Beach is because you jump directly over the Great Barrier Reef and then land on the beach. (Rach went to the beach to watch the landing). Im not gonna lie to you, i was s***ting it, the three people disappearing from the side of the plane really woke me up, then i was dragged to the edge, told to look up and then the next 60 seconds were... well you can check out the pics for yourself. After landing, emptying my trousers and going back to the hostel, it was back to being ill again. We left the next day on our Oz bus with our driver Guido for Magnetic island which took a ferry ride to get to. The islands pretty cool, pretty much the same as the last place with us in the room all day, except for their were 6 other people in the smallst room you can imagine. Rachel wasnt very sympathetic towards Matt being ill " sunstroke doesn't last this long" until we found out after a trip to the doctors that it was actually a urine infection, which im over now don't worry. The third day on the island was more productive, we went kayaking in the sea, and had lunch at Horseshoe Bay and then back to matt being ill. WE failed at cooking dinner (twice) we went ot bed and got up the next day for our coach trip to Airlie beach.
Lots of love Matt and Rach xx
