G'day,
After our drive down from Surf Camp we were met by Rachaels family friend Susan who we stayed with whilst in Sydney. It was nice to have a comfy bed and some proper meals. Our first day was spent in the city where we went to the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Opera House which is really impressive with the Harbour Bridge in its background. Its so much colder in Sydney and it keeps on getting colder the further south we go. After a trip to the info centre and macyd's we had a walk round Darling Harbour and then went back to Susans on the ferry. The next day we went on a bus to Bondi beach which would have been really nice if it hadnt been cold, wet and windy the whole time. We went back on the bus and went to the Customs House where Matt could read an english paper at last. We went for lunch at HarrydeWheels which is a famous pie shop in a place called Woolamalooloo. Pie! Mash! Gravy! Mushy Peas! Living the dream!
We went back to the Harbour to see if there were any free places to Climb the Harbour Bridge. There was and it was amazing. It took about an hour to get kitted up with all the safety gear and clothing. The climb took about two hours as you go all the way up and through the framework of the bridge and then up some stairs to the top where you see the flags. The views were brilliant, it was so cold up there and we did it as the sun went down so it was dark when we reached the top. The city looked great at night. After grabbing a Subway and a Starbucks we headed home. Our final day in Sydney was spent going to Paddys market in Chinatowen where we couldnt even afford the crap they were selling there. After a coffee and a muffin in Hyde Park (putting on loads of weight by the way) went back to Susans after a detour to the Opera House on the way. We left for the airport the next day for our next stop...Melbourne.
