Woke up...cold again...This cold lark was beginning to wear a bit thin on both of us... Matt (me) felt decidely dodge...full of cold and not in the best of spirits. We agreed with the hotel to pay for half a days stay so we didnt have to leave at 10am when our train back to Cusco wasn't until 3pm...It cost us 15 soles...about 2 pounds.. Once again we had done well bartering on the hotel price and were paying 5 pounds for our hotel room..a bargain.
Very little happened, we had a wander, bought a few souvenirs and then got our tourist train back to Cusco..All seemed quite normal on the train..It was a vista dome train offering great views of the mountains around us.. Suddenly a thumping bass kicked in on the tannoyand first a bloke wearing a white balaclava with a face drawn on it stroking a toy llama came wandering down the carriage dancing...v bizarre and a little sinister to be honest..Anyway he disappeared and next up, to a dance version of "if you're going to San Francisco be sure to wear flowers in your hair", came the steward and stewardess modelling a variety of Alpaca jumpers, scarves and hats in one of the strangest/ funniest/ only fashion show i've ever seen...All in all a strange half an hr...
We got back to Cusco and the hotel pick up wasn't there...this had become a theme of late...We got a taxi to take us there and were taken to a room with two single beds and no t.v...We had booked a double bed and t.v.....We dumped our bags and walked 10 yards up the rd to another hotel who looked as surprised to see us as we were to be considering the Hotel Singapur as an option...Anyway the room was clean, nice, had a telly and was about 5 times cheaper...We checked in, went and had dinner and collapsed.
