Truth or Consequences - that really is the name of this little town! It was something to do with a radio show in the 60s that wanted a town to take its name...

Anyway it was a nice little find for us road weary travellers - hot springs! And warmer weather. We stayed in a lovely little hostel place that felt like a holiday camp and spent hours and hours soaking in the hot tubs.

In the morning we went to church in a little Methodist place, where the people were very old but very friendly! One guy asked us to stay and help ´translate´ their English accents Sunday school video! It was a little different but nice.

After that and a lunch at KFC (to make up for being forced to eat pot noodles on other occasions!) we were back on the road and before long made it to Tuscon, Arizona. The desert, a lot hotter than anywhere else we´d been and a LOT drier! The night we arrived there was a huge procession in the town of all ghastly looking models and figures - Mexican Day of the Dead - yuk.

In Tuscon we delivered Bompey to his sweet old owner and enjoyed a too expensive historic hotel... deliberated a lot about whether or not to go to New Orleans in another autodriveaway car, available in another week. We decided to give it a go and in the meantime head up to the Grand Canyon to see the sights there!
