The back and beyond has been done! We're living the dream baby! (The driving across America dream that is!) We've seen some places with little more than a street in, been pulled over by the Police already (for doing 38 in a 30 zone, but he let us off!), and have made foolish assumptions about what a roadside 'rest area' might have to offer (chuff all).
We spent a night in Las Vegas, New Mexico - not the big flashy one, a quieter smaller version - and lived it up with a delicious feast of pot noodles and tinned fruit - yay for the high life!
We rolled into Santa Fe this morning and are nicely settled in a friendly Mexican style hostel (most things are Mexican style round here! Hardly feels like America at all) that has loads of FREE FOOD (including chocolate cake and drinkable tea!). The joy. Santa Fe is very arty with hundreds of galleries and a strong American Indian influence - lots of adobe buildings etc. Very pretty with the mountains as a backdrop, we've seen some awesome paintings and sculptures.
The plan now is to head south (after stocking up on chocolate cake), deliver this car to the guy in Tucson, Arizona and from there make our way into the sunshine (still waiting!) in Mexico. Matt's Spanish is improving daily!
Buenas noches amigos!
