Hey again from us for the last time in Western Australia......boo. Doesn't matter as the next stop is Cairns & everything South of there!!! Cant wait.
So the last entry told of the disappointment of the cider factory being closed & the fact that we ate kangaroo & enjoyed it a bit too much. If I get bitten by a roo at the zoo, it'll be justified.
Day 70:
This morning we had to hang around in Bunbury as we had left the diary at Nick & Helen's. We agreed to pick it up from GWN headquarters if he posted it there.
To pass time we decided to check out the cinema, turns out Tuesdays are half price so we were both overjoyed at the prospect of seeing 'Sex & The City'!! Well, Carly was.
That ate a couple of hours at least so we had some lunch & went to collect the diary in the afternoon, Thanks Nick. It's a great relief to have it back safely. We were bricking it a bit.
After this we tidyed the van manically cos it was getting towards dusk & we didnt wanna be driving back to Perth in the dark & struggling to find a campsite. It was all fine & we checked in at a campsite near Perth, ready to drop the Wicked van back in the morning. The campsite was a rip-off. Never mind tho, we had 2 free nights before it anyway.
Day 71:
Finished tidying the van this morning & set off on the road into Perth City. After 20 mins of doing U-turns, waiting in traffic jams & seeing how rude Aussie drivers are we were in foul moods. Didnt stop us getting the van back in time so we checked back into the hostel we used last month. Got a double room this time instead of a dorm.
We wandered into town to collect our misdirected bank cards & top up our food supplies for the next couple days.
In the afternoon we chilled at the hostel & met many characters from all over. Rowena from Devon, a girl from Wimbledon, a guy from Plymouth & Alex from Finland. We chatted to Alex for hours before deciding to get an early night in.
Day 72:
Today we did some sight-seeing, including King's Park & Swan Bells. Check the pics. The views from the park were incredible & no photos could do it justice.
We wandered around town a bit more then entered a poker tournament at the hostel. Only 5 bucks to enter so it was more for the fun of it.
After tea everyone took their places around the table & the game started. Two hours & 13 casualties later, Carly emerged victorious & bagged $60. We were chuffed so went to a bar for a few beers with Alex & another guy called Liam from Birmingham.
We met two guys from Bristol in the bar, from Hartcliffe & Whitchurch. Names were Dean Tucker & Wesley Salvage if anyone recognises them.
Day 73:
So today we leave for Cairns. Not doing much today apart from post our postcards finally & get our pics sent back on disc.
Sorry its brief but my time is running out!! Will be in touch when we arrive on the East.
Hope everyone is well & Kate & Mark enjoy your holiday guys. x
