Sa wa di ka! I'm am now in Bangkok, I arrived yesterday after a long day travelling from Koh Tao.
Last weekend I went on the visa run to extend my thai visa. I went on a night ferry, getting rocked like a little baby the whole night, but actually it was better lying down than sitting or standing, I didn't get sick at all. The ferry arrived in Chumporn at five am while it was still dark. From there I got on a minibus with a bunch of other people also doing the visa run. When we got to Ranong there was a very unofficial border control with one line for departures and one for arrivals. It was all a bit confusing and unorganised. Anyway, I got my passport stamped in the departure line and then we all got into a small boat. The old boat looked as if it would rot to pieces any time, but it got us to the other side safely. There we got a stamp saying we entered an departed Burma and then we went back on the boat again. This time we got in the arrivals line and got a final stamp in our passports before heading back to Chumporn again. All this for a few stamps here and there and it didn't even give me a month extra as I'd thought, I only got two more weeks. With that in mind I suddenly had to leap into action, although exhausted after my visa run and lack of sleep.
I got all the stuff sorted though, I booked flight tickets and booked hostels and printed all the stuff that was required for an Indian visa.
Yesterday morning I said goodbye to my sister and her boyfriend, who were going to stay a few more days in Koh Tao, and then spent the rest of the day on a boat and bus to Bangkok.
Today I went to the Indian embassy to apply for a Indian visa and now all I have to do is wait. The visa will be ready at the end of next week and then I'll be flying to Mumbai on the 25th. I hope it all goes smoothly, because I don't have time to wait since my thai visa expires the 26th.
Now I have a week and a half to spend in Bangkok, so I guess I'll just have to explore the big city life. Bye!
