It is my last day in Bangkok, and also in Thailand. Yesterday I went to collect my Indian visa and tomorrow I'm flying to Mumbai.
I've had a nice time in Bangkok, although it was a bit of a chock with the intense city life after a month chilling on the beach. I have done some touristy stuff with other people from my hostel and wandered around town on my own taking photos. My hostel is a really nice, chilled place with three brothers running it and creating a social atmosphere.
I have walked through the protests almost every day here and enjoyed every bit of it. They have shut down many streets which makes it hard to get around if you are going by car. But I have mostly been walking and enjoyed big empty trafficless streets. The cut off streets are crowded with tents were people sit and relax. They have put up many big stages were they have talks (obviously all in thai, so I don't know what half of it is about), but more often music performances. The streets av filled with street food wagons and mopeds. I heard it was dangerous in Bangkok before I arrived, but to me it all looks like a big music festival.
I have walked in parks and gone to the cinema. I have been sitting in cafés reading my book and I have had a few relaxing thai massages. I have played drinking games and met a lot of new people.
I have been in Thailand for a month and a half and I've had time relax in the sun, spend time with my family and see the bustling city life of Bangkok.
Tomorrow I'm off on new adventures, Indian, here I come!
