Hi, I'm now lying in a big, clean hotel bed in Thailand. I arrived a few hours ago after a long journey from Morocco. I didn't sleep much the last 24h because they were spent on two different planes and in the airport in Abu Dhabi.
It was a weird feeling stepping outside of the airport and feeling the warm air hit me. I quickly realised I should change my jeans for something cooler, so I doubled back into the airport and got changed in a small toilet cubical. The whole trip so far in Morocco has been cold or at least cool at night, so I've used all my thickest clothes and used layers to keep warm. It was a bit of a struggle to fit all those clothes in my backpack and only wear thin, light clothes.
There were a lot o taxi drivers outside of the airport and I talked to one guy who said pretty much everything is book now, so close to Christmas. I'm taking a bus tomorrow from Phuket so I wanted to stay the night there, but I ended up close to the airport in a fancy hotel instead. It was a bit pricey, but I was so tired so I just took the room and enjoyed a fresh shower after the long travel. I haven't felt so clean in ages, hotel soaps and shampoo, clean white towels, an own bathroom and a shower that actually works. It's funny how you take these thing for granted at home, but feel so luxury when you for once are totally clean when you've been travelling for a while.
I had some chicken coconut soup downstairs. It tasted wonderful and I realised how much I've missed thai food. There were some Swedish people drinking by the table next to mine, but they were very noisy and drunk and I think next time I'd rather pretend to come from somewhere else than talk to swedes outside of their home country acting like pigs.
I skyped with my family and in less than a week I will see them again. I'm so looking forward to spending some time with my family. They've planned this trip ages ago and I wasn't going to go at all and now I'm here before them, ironic.
Tomorrow I'm going to go to the island Koh Samui and wait for the rest of the troops there. Nightnight!
