Hello again! I'm still in Thailand but I have moved from one island to another. On the first of January me and my family took a boat from Koh Samui to the smaller island Koh Tao. Where Samui was crowded and packed with tourists, Tao is quieter and calmer. There are more young people and backpackers here and it suits me better wit the more relaxed atmosphere. The water is crystal clear and the sky is blue. It may seem weird, but the night we arrived at the beach on Tao was the first time since I landed in Thailand that I saw a sunset. On Samui the sky was often cloudy or there was a hazy veil before the sun, the damp, hot air always rising creating a mistiness in the sky. Koh Samui was too crowded for my liking, but when we arrived at Koh Tao I was reminded again why I love Thailand.
I have mostly taken it easy and chilled at the beach while here, it's been nice to just relax and land a bit here in Thailand after all my travelling and sleeping only a few nights at every new place.
A few days ago my family left to go back home, all but my sister, Cora and her boyfriend. It was sad to say goodbye, not knowing when I'll be going back home again. But it has also been good to see them again and spend some time together.
I have been in Thailand for more than three weeks now, and I only have a visa for one month. Apparently the easiest was to get a longer visa is to step out of the country and then simply turn around and step back in again. On every entry into Thailand you automatically get a free month long visa. Therefor I'm going on a so called visa run tomorrow, a quick organised trip to Burma to then re-enter Thailand and get a whole month longer in the country if I wish.
My sister and her boyfriend are staying one more week and we'll probably just stay where we are and chill. When they leave I'll go to Bangkok to apply for a visa to India and from there I'll see where I'll end up.
Happy new year to you all!
