Ali, Nick and Grete walk into Dartmouth while NW goes ahead by bike to get his boat ready. Weeke Lane appears much more overgrown and narrow compared with our last time here [Easter 2013 with d*** and Jan]. Also much warmer than last time!
We reach the pontoon as NW is mooring the 21' Alexandra Persephone, or 'Ali P' alongside. We sit on the pontoon and have lunch the NW and Ali go for a sail while Grete shows Nick around Dartmouth.
It's beautiful on a late summer afternoon. The ferries are crowded and cafes doing good trade with people sitting outside.
The timber framed buildings look good in the sunshine and we see details we missed before, like the heraldic coats of arms for Dartmouth's 'worthies' on the wall of the Stamp House.
The sailors return under motor having found only enough wind to achieve 1.3 knots.
We catch the bus back to the campsite. The hedges around the pitch are laden with blackberries, some of which we pick and have with meringue and ice-cream for tonight's dessert after Grete's Chicken and Mushroom casseriole.
