This site has a van cleaning area so before we leave both vans get a rinse off with the pressure washer before we leave at 11:20
Skirting Cadiz we can make out the port area across the huge flat wetland area. We see storks nesting on pylons and huge hills of salt evaporated ot of the salt pans which stretch as far as the eye can see.
We continue to Jerez where we plan to visit the Bodega Tio Pepe, where there are guided works tours of the region's largest sherry producer. We see the main sign and arrive at a small car park in a narrow street but nowhere for motorhomes. 100 yards on it becomes a pedestrian zone, requiring 3-point turns. We drive around and see a gateway; business visitors only. Another drive around the narrow cobbled streets, a road works jam, and a word with a warden reveals the car park is underground and no good for motorhomes. So we agree if they don't want us we won't stay.
Just out of town we find a lay by for lunch then head towards Seville. It's a pretty drive on a mixture of roads, with large areas of rich green, which we think are early wheat or barley crops. Around the fields are long modern aquaducts; pre-formed concrete troughs on concrete legs feeding huge rows of gantry sprayers.
We reach Seville a bit before 17:00 and it is quite busy, and when we reach our destination Grete says it's not the aire we were aiming for. A quick re-programming of the satnav and 15 minutes later we arrive at the marina parking and get set up on the riverbank under a row of eucalyptus trees. The river is a muddy brown with a few small yachts at anchor, and a kingfisher out looking for his tea. Grete goes off with Cleo to check availability and accessibility of buses for tomorrow.
