it's a miserable, drizzly and rainy morning. We decide the best thing is for Ali and Grete to get the bus into Oporto. Neither of them is happy this morning, the showers were cold, the laundry driers don't work and the [different] receptionist shrugs and couldn't care less.
Nick C goes to the wifi room, Nick W tinkers with their van and the girls head for the bus. They have a good time in the city and a pleasant lunch, despite the rain. Oporto is Portugal's second largest city and the centre for the producers of port wine, largest of which is Sandemans. Disenchanted with the site we decide to move out when they return as check-out is up to 17:00.
We service the vans and drive only 4 miles to the harbour at Vila Nova da Gaia where there is a large car park we can stay free overnight. The view would be lovely in sunshine, but we can only just make out the headland and harbour entrance through the mist.
Ali cooks Shepherd's pie for dinner and we play some music.
