Slow to wake this morning but there is a bright blue sky and a pleasant 22C on the weather station.
Claudie is unloading her van and comes to say hello when we open up. She didn't get home from the market until 01:30 as all the traders have to pack up the tables and clear the square.
As we get ready to leave she tells Ali to help herself from the herb garden if we need any, so we pick a few sprigs of basil. Such a welcomig and generous host.
We decide we will still go to Roc du Plaissance even though it's only 30 odd miles.
Maize and sunflowers are all along the first few miles but then it's huge areas of golden stubble and hay bales. At Durras we pass by the large castle but the car park s full so we cannot stop even for photos.
We cross into the Gironde region and the vineyards become more and more prevalent as we negotiate the last few miles on narrow roads to Pineliuh and park in the same spot as we did in May last year. The vines are half as tall again as they were then and laden with grapes.
There is no one around so we have lunch and just as we are finishing Madame appears, followed soon after by Sandrine. Both remember us as we were their first ever Passion visitors.
We go for a walk around some of their five hectares enjoying the sunshine, the quiet and watching butterflies.
Sandrine is not around in the evening when we go for tasting, and in contrast to the numerous glasses offered last year, Mum and Dad are much more restrained in pouring out the tasters. No matter, we buy a box of the crisp, flowery white and three bottle of award winning, red Bordeaux all for €25.
We have some of the white with a salad Nicoise.
