It's drizzling again as we share out the remaining supplies and check that everything is in the van it belongs to. Ali and Grete visit the mill shop before we drive to the end of the lane and turn in different directions.
Nick and Grete are headed for their ferry at Dieppe tomorrow evening, while we will sail from St. Malo at noon.
The rain eases as we approach the busy periperique at Rennes. Our journey is mostly dual carriageway, but we take a small detour into #### in the hope of finding a last baguette for lunch. As is sometimes the way in these small villages, the baker has shut for lunch, so Ali finds a takeaway pizza. We drive to the nearby aire overlooking a pretty lake to eat our lunch then use the service point to empty out.
Nearing Chateauneuf d'ille-et-Villaine we stop at Intermarche so Nick can have his final fix of supermarket car parks while Ali makes sure we don't bring home too many Euros. This delay causes us to change our original plan of going directly back to St. Malo to park in the aire and look into town. Instead we go to nearby Cancale where there is also an aire, where we arrive at 17:20
It's a simple but attractive little aire and the barriers are open so the normal charge doesn't apply.
The road down to the port is quite steep, too much for the push chair and it's not warm enough to bother with the buggy for the remaining daylight so Ali has a quick look around by herself. She decides it's nice enough to come back to next time we come in through St. Malo.
Steak for dinner then a final tidy up and sort out tickets on so on for tomorrow.
