Today is our official last day in Kenya. I woke up wayyyyy too early, so finished packing and chilled in my room until breakfast.
After breakfast we found out that we can keep our rooms until 1 :) so we to changed, and I sunbathed, josh and theo played in the pool, and parents went for a romantic walk on the beach.
We had lunch around 12.30, then cleared out our rooms and headed up to reception. The bus was waiting to take us straight to Malindi airport, so we hopped on, and got there in under a half hour.
We got to Malindi Airport, and saw that there was literally nothing to do - just one shop for sweets etc, and seats for the waiting area. We had to wait about 45 minutes or so, then we all got on the plane to Nairobi, which took about a half hour ish.
We had to wait about a half hour outside the terminal, as the taxi/driver hadn't arrived to take us to the hotel we were staying at for the one night. Eventually it arrived, and we got in a VERY posh car!! Leather seats, air conditioning, no mess anywhere, and an icebox for water (we all got a bottle each). After 20 mins or so we got to the also VERY posh hotel called Ole Sereni. We all felt extremely underdressed in our shorts and tshirts and smelling of airplane... I shared a room with josh and theo, and the parents had a room to themselves, a whole floor below us. We freshened up, checked emails etc on the "complimentary wifi", then went for a wander round the hotel. They have: gift shop, 5 or 6 floors (one especially for arriving...), a pool, a pool bar, 4 different restaurants, a gym, and a patch of grass that looks like it's for some sort of sport... Oh, and it looks out over the Nairobi Game Park (but we didn't actually see anything!!). We sat down for some drinks and snacks - I had a mojito which was very nice, but very expensive!!
After that, we got dressed in slightly warmer and smarter clothes, then went downstairs again to the "big five restaurant" for supper. I had a chicken katsu thing with noodles, but I felt a little sick so couldn't finish it... But as always, I had room for icecream!! They had homemade icecream, and me and my mum shared a bowl with 3 scoops - coffee (veryyyy nice!!!!), chocolate (not so nice, quite icey), and some wierd nutty one which apparently had cashews in, but tasted more like coffee!! Very yummy though :)
After supper we all went back upstairs, and I had what seemed like the best shower in the world!! Lovely and clean!! Liam called me then I went straight to sleep, ready for an extremely early start the next day!!
