I wake up and find an hilarious video message from my friend Gavin in Perth. He's online so we Skype. After, I jump on the bike and ride to Peggy's Cove to visit the famous fishing village and Canada's most photographed light house. Its a pretty cove but close to being spoiled by souvenir shops. The road to the cove is a great ride.
Back in Halifax I have some lunch, fuel up, cash up and am ready to get on the road to Cape Breton. It's an nice ride along the southern shore of NFL before I cross over onto the Cape and ride the northern shore. It's around 6 when I pass through the beautiful National Park on the Cabot Trail. Heading up the pass the weather turns into thick fog and light rain. The road along the northern shore turns into a gravel track in Pleasant Bay and I follow it for 20 minutes before it ends in a disused trail that runs over a bridge and to an abandoned shack on a cliff top. I make camp here for the night.
