Had the worst night sleep last night, girls woke all night due to being cold and my bloody back is shot from sitting in all the taxi's with my knees up round my ears!!! Hence, we slept late until 9am which l think we all needed. The last ten days or so have been retry full on. Sadly our time is coming to a close with only two days left :(
We had a late breaky and filled up like usual on a two course buffet filled with gourmet omelets, bacon, waffles and assortment of fruit. Think our waste line has definitely expanded no thanks to the HRH putting on a beautifully delicious breaky spread every morning. Will be weird to get back to Oz and have to think, let alone get, breaky for the family....
Today is all about relaxing and hopefully getting my back a little better. I can hardly walk today and pain is going all down my legs. So l have decided to go have a full body massage and also my first ever pedicure in my life.....ever!!! I know, all you gals out there are thinking this 35 y.o is a nutter not ever having a pedicure, but in normal life l never had the opportunity to indulge myself so much. Whilst l was going to have my massage, Marty has taken the girls down to the pool and booked our free poolside cabana for the day.
I had this massage place recommended to me by Narelle, our mate from Perth. When l got there it was closed for another half hour, so off l went around the corner to Poppies Lane for a last shop by myself. Picked up some bargains in peace and quiet, apart from the pestering from the market owners that is. I hen headed with my bargains to have my hour and a half of pleasure. s*** when l say it like that it sounds a tad crass doesn't it (lol)...
I was greeted by a lovely Balinese woman who assisted me on choosing my pedicure color, of course l chose red seeing I've never worn red nail polish before. I know, I'm a sad case! I internally gasped when she told me it was $170,000 rupiah all up, massage and pedicure. That's $17 AUS!! Unfrigginbelievable! Love Bali!! Another woman led me to my bed which was surrounded with floating and hanging material to divide the beds and give privacy. My foot and leg massage was heaven! Then the woman changed over and l had an amazingly relaxing full body massage. I could literally feel my muscles untwisting and my body being soothed. By the end of it l could actually move without twinging which was great. Last she painted my nails with a lively red and l left feeling like a new woman, well half way back to my old self anyway....
When l got back to HRH and got in my batters l headed to the pool area to find Marty looking like he was a king. There he was with beam and coke in hand lounging on the couch overlooking the pool watching the girls swimming. At least we both found our ways of relaxing today!! We enjoyed the whole day of lounging, swimming, drinking of course and eating. We didn't even have to go to the cafe to get our food, a waiter would come over and get our order and bring it back to us! Unreal hey.
Narelle, Damien, Jackson and Sienna joined us in the early arvo and we all had a great time together. All the kids get along well and it is great to see we can make friends in any part of the world. Boo and Meg had a great day playing with the kids and enjoying the poolside activities. They played water volley ball, had eating competitions, played poolside bingo and then finished it off with a dancing competition. We had to stay late to finish the poolside activities, and lucky we did as Boo won a gold medal for most points earned during the day! She was so excited and got up on the podium in front of everyone for her Hard Rock Hall of Fame photo. So happy she won one as she had tired hard all week. But Meg on he other hand got upset and cried when she missed out. Oh well, even on holidays lessons are learnt, maybe tomorrow..
The adults fun was also fun to watch....Marty went thirds with Narelle and Damien in a Bintang Tower, which can only be described as a beer tower which holds around nine pots! Now along with this, Marty had to also finish his duty free bottle of Beam. Marty is not a big drinker as you all know so by the end of the day with all this under his belt he was having the time of his life. I think he thought this two weeks was to replace the 'schoolies week' he never had! He was so funny, and seriously, it was great to watch my husband laugh and chill and not have a care in the world. By sunset, l had had a great time at the splash bar with happy hour mojitos and Marty was full of Bintang. We got dressed up and headed out with our new mates for dinner down Poppies Lane 1 to 'Poppies Restaurant'. Another delicious meal with great mates, plenty of laughs. Don't think Marty needed the Bintangs there, but oh well. After a great evening we called it a night just on time to get Marty home before he turned into a pumpkin (lol). As we said goodnight we headed up the corridor to our room and he girls were in hysterics watching their dad bounce off he walls laughing too as he couldn't walk in a straight line. Now for those who know us, you now Marty is rarely in this kind of form, and l was sober, well tipsy, which is even more
strange....
What can l say, another fantastic day which unfortunately went way too quick. Felt like l missed out in the luxury of the cabana a bit, but fingers crossed the massage will make me wake up better tomorrow for out last day in Bali...
