Happy birthday to our gorgeous and amazing daughter Charlotte (aka Boo)!!! She woke excitedly for her 7th birthday, Meg was gorgeous giving her kisses and hugs. Again, she got to have a birthday in an amazing place, last year it was at Cape York. We gave her her gifts, which she received 'The Lorax' (a movie she has been so patiently waiting for), a watch, a secret diary and some hippie twirling balls. She was so excited all the gifts.
We headed down for breakfast, Boo proudly declaring it was her b'day when we checked in at the counter. We all got our plates full and Boo eagerly awaited for her b'day song. We had seen a few people have their b'days here and Boo was very excited, nearly to he point where she couldn't eat. We then heard the sound of the bongos being played and the Balinese hosts walking around singing the happy b'day song, zig zagging through the tables until hey stopped at ours. Boo's face had the biggest smile on it, they placed the piece of cake in front of her while everyone sang happy b'day to her. Such a great thing to do, this place has been amazing like this the whole time, just adding those little personal touches to our stay. Boo was cheered on as she blew her candle out. A few of the kids that she had made friends with came up and wished her a good day.
After breaks we headed back to the hotel room to chill. It had been a busy few days and today we have let Boo decide what we'll do. So we all sat in the bed playing UNO while l undid the girls braids. Then we headed down to the pool for the day. That's all she wanted to do, swim and play with her friends all day, so that's what we did. Felt a little bad because we didn't see her for most the day, only for food. Glad she was happy though, played with her new friends, sisters from Perth, Isabella and Annie. Really lovely girls and all four got along well. While the girls all played the beach/pool games and beach dancing that the HRH put on, Marty and l sat at the pool bar enjoying happy hour mojitos watching all the logs having a blast.
Feeling a tad happy after the mojitos we made our way up to the room to get ready for dinner. We had arranged to meet our new friends, Narelle, Damien, Jackson and Sienna in the foyer and go out for dinner at a place called "Legends Bar" in Garlic Lane. It was a far walk but all the kids did well and by the time we arrived we were all a tad thirsty! It was such a great night. Great food, cheap drinks and a fun band that actually sounded pretty good. Narelle and l had a few dances with the girls, which then required a few more cocktails to quench the thirst. The band found out it was Boo's b'day so they got her up in stage and everyone sang happy b'day to her whilst they present a huge cardboard cake with candles for her to blow out. She also got a huge glass of OJ which she proceeded to skull while everyone in the place chanted "skull, skull, skull"! Narelle had been going on about this place and the band from her previous visits to Bali, and there was a pretty memorable song as well which she requested pretty quickly for the band to play. Eventually they did, it's called the "Bali Holiday Song" and it's sort of like the dirty hokey pokey, really funny. The kids had no idea what was going on or being sung, while the adults laughed the kids just contued to dance. We were also treated to a group picture to remember the night, only cost $5 each and the photographer said he'd drop it off at HRH tomorrow for us.
Eventually good things must come to an end and it was time to call it a night. We got a taxi, after l refused two before due to the price, and got home safely to HRH. Costs us $50,000 rupiah ($5 AUS) and we got dropped off at the door whole Narelle abf Damien paid $200,000 rupiah and were dropped off down the street. They even left first and we got back before them, they weren't happy campers!!! Lol.
Overall, l reckon Boo will remember this special birthday and l am so grateful that we were able to give her such a great day!!!!
