This morning we packed a few bits and pieces and headed off to Watford. This is the area where Dad grew up as a boy of 5 to 10 years of age. Kenton ,Kingsbury area. We found number 11 Cranleigh Gardens and the lady gave us permission to take a photo of the place. We tried to see his school but a lot has changed of course. We did see the high school but there have been additions of course.
Then over to Kingsbury and number 2 Leybourne Road. It was looking very bedraggled and was up for sale.
After looking around for a while Dad said OK let's go I have seen enough.
I have to admit I had to agree with him, the endless rows of semi detached houses and the endless vehicles parked in the tiny bit of front yard and all along the streets was depressing. We could not see many white faces amongst the people.
I think the streets are even more hairy than the country lanes, the country people always give you a wave when you give way to them.
We both agreed we will be glad to get back to Australian driving conditions, although the motorways are quite good.
