Hello again, this time I'm in Nelson. Had to stay here for a couple of days as I needed to book the ferry to the top island 2 days in advance. So I set about finding what I could do here. One of my room mates told me that I should go to the center of New Zealand, he told me how to get there, but what he neglected to tell me was that it was on top of a very big hill (what we would call a mountain back home). Walk up anyway, and was glad to finally reach the top and got a good view over the city.

The following day a few of us from the hostel got together and went for a walk down to the beach. Was watching some people kite surf (Wasn't able to try it myself but was fun to watch) instead we went Go Karting, at the start my lap times were around the high 20's but near the end I got that down to 21 seconds and got the faster lap time overall.

At the end of the day on our way back a tree got uprooted by the wind and fell across the road right in front of us just missing a car.

Getting the ferry to Wellington tomorrow.
