They waited until night before they sprung their attack. The sun had just disappeared over the distant hills and comfortable darkness had descended upon the weary camp. Slowly, carefully and silently they approached. They were beyond detection of the helpless victims.
There was no cry of alarm as they approached the tents. Not a single warning on the none existent breeze. The tents sat in their simple uniformity, plots of unflappable complacency with doors open towards a hopeful cooling wind in the summer heat.
Weapons drawn the vicious attackers circled assessing their pray poised for the optimum moment, their number easily enough to overpower their targets.
They pounced night vision working perfectly in moonless darkness, stealth was the key..... then they were tearing at naked flesh in a blood fuelled frenzy.
STAB STAB STAB! Piercing and cutting. Moving from one victim to the next. Cries of alarm fill the camp as people start to scurry away from the attack but it's to late. Surrounded, outnumbered and nearly invisible there is no escape from the Scottish Midgey!
