Overview: We have had a great time but New York not all its cracked up to be - surprisingly perhaps it looks so tired compared to European cities. On the up side the Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Public library et al & felt safe. On the down side it is dirty and somewhat yesterday, the subway is desperatly poor in all aspects - it sucks man! Ok so here's the thing. Were like doing Central Park and the side walk is melting in the heatwave which is a problem because the cheap flip flops bought in Amsterdam have decided to break. Oh my God it's hot, Managed to get him into Maceys today for a whole hour just because of the air conditioning. No purchases though. This greets you from the New York Public Library - a grand place. Have meandered here from Grand Central station which is clearly a must as very impressive. Brill journey till we hit JFK yuk. Woke up bright n early at 5am so Mark was promptly dispatched downstairs for coffee after which tackling the Big Apple became more possilble.
