A granny type place with the first TV since the start was a big hit with the girls, Dirty dancing and various other chick flicks were viewed end to end. We all decided to check out the local drinking spots. It is a bit dodgy in town so we went to a country club first. It was very tidy place full of white locals. The drinks were very cheap and they did long island ice teas (after we explained how to do them). Needless to say things started to get a bit messy - the guys were picking up the girls and then dropping them. Tom decided to pick up plant pots and put them on the bar. I drew the line when he appeared with a scaffolding pole from somewhere. It was time to go - but the locals are so friendly they offered to take us to the next drinking spot and as they were no taxis bring us back. This was in the centre of Bulawayo and more interesting shall we say.
This club place was also full of whites but this being Africa what they did for a living was more interesting. Liz started to get arsy with a white hunter that happened to buy us a round of drinks and was friends with the person that brought us here. We were having a good time here when we were made aware that one of our group (an Aussie) had got into a fight with the locals. I was a long story but it all ended with one of our group fearing for our lives 'coming to rescue us'
