Mark and Liz reach for the horizon
We stayed in the pleasant pasada all day only briefly going across the road for something to eat.
It however was a busy day for me travel planning whilst Liz carried on learning Spanish.
I keep hearing stories about how dangerous the rivers are here. They actually have a competition of swimming to the other side, more a case of doing it rather than being first. The Cuidad Boliviar is at a very narrow point on the Orinoco just 300m across. Despite the amazing depth of 200m it resembles rapids with world pools and turbulent water. We heard over dinner the news that 12 local people including a baby were dragged over a 50m water fall when the engine on the boat packed in and couldn't be restarted (no one survived).
