My quest for the worlds hardest bed has finally ended. This bed is so hard it should come with a warning so that when you check in and do the usual flop on the bed you don't hurt yourself.

The blog picture gives you some idea, 13 stone dude standing on the bed merely creases the covers (1-2 inch deflection).

We also found the best humous and pitta bread meal in the world. The kind of place that once you put some in your mouth, you stop eating and savour the moment with the "My God this is good".

In fact I cannot remember anywhere where the food has been so consistently good. Without doubt it has been far better than Sydney and Cape Town.

The question is having come from Ambrym - having probally the worst food we have had, is it just that we are not used to it?

We went to a yatching bar last night for the back to civilisation celebration. Liz said with a beam it is just like we are on holiday. There was some very big yatchs pulled up - we spent some time choosing our boat.

It was a good night but sadly knackered by 8pm.
