Whow we are doing something. We took a boat across the lake to San Marco. This gave me an ideal chance to practise my Spanish with the captive local boy on board. Amazingly I was understood (even in English I struggle), but it all goes downhill when I try to understand their questions. Anyway we got to San Marco without anyone jumping overboard.
Since we have been here we have been assuming that San Marco was the bigger one of the villages across the lake. This confused us into thinking that we hadn't got to the center from where the boat dropped us off. Asking a local where the center of San Marco was, understandibly led to confusion (as we were there). Eventually a tuk tuk driver confirmed that the other village was called San Pablo, to which Liz added was 'not nice' (according to Lonely Planet).
The scenery over here is very nice, and the local costumes add to it's appeal. As it happend the tuk tuk could get us back to San Pedro for the same price as the boat.
Going back by tuk tuk was great, it gave me a great place to take sneaky photos of the locals whithout them putting a camera face on.
I have been getting Liz used to the idea of moving on day after tomorrow. You have to do it gently as moving on would mean giving up the pub dinners and the uber clean room that we currently have.
Down at the pub we got chatting with an entertaining biker couple from deepest darkest Yorkshire. They were pretty well traveled but had just come back for another six months here. It is getting tough to decide what to do, the caribean is very close.
