Breakfast was a vast improvement on the biscuits we had last night for dinner. We had toasted bread included in the hostel price, this is a big deal for us we havn't seen a toaster since Kanab USA.
Liz was not feeling very well so went back to bed. We got Internet access back so had a look at the strike news. There has been a couple of deaths but pretty much everything is at a complete standstill, people getting into Punta Arenas by plane have to walk into the city (a very long walk).
The backpackers being more bored than usual decided to have a protest themselves. Word got round to meet at the square, we didn't go but someone said about 500 turned up. All fired up a group at the hostal started discusing walking to Argentina though the situation at the border was still unknown.
The hostel put on a barbeque, us being vegy decided to turn up for the drinking session. It was just what the doctor ordered for forgeting the situation here. In fact I pretty much forget everything except where bed was after copious amounts of cheap good Chilean wine in a carton.
