Got up at 7am, had breakfast room service style as had a tour booked and had to be off boat smartly. Left for orgainised tour of Athens around 8ish. We had a guided tour of the Parthenon and acropolis hill, was interesting to see how they are patching up the broken bits of marble they make casts and then laser it into shape. It is being restored and will take another 10yrs to complete, so was covered in scaffolding, and they hope that once the restore is complete you will be able to walk through it. We missed the ships photographer at the acropolis which was a shame because they had really good phots of this on the boat and it was the one I really wanted. After spending an hour with 1000s of other tourists we were back on the bus and drove past many other sights like the library and tomb of the unknown soldier. Then back to the ship for lunch. Had a coffee from the coffee shop on board, was crap, the coffee at home is definately better than anywhere so far. Had a nice dinner with a couple from Taupo and Wissonsin, then beat Mark at shuffleboard again! Skipped the show tonight and enjoyed the sunset instead.
