Today we went on a visit to Nijo Castle which was a Shogun castle, it had beautiful screen paintings and amazing squeaky floors which were made like this so that if Ninjas tried to sneak in then the floors would creak; genius. Had a nice walk around the gardens of the castle. So yesterday we travelled by Shikansen from Tokyo to Kyoto; the trains are meant to be very efficient in Japan but ous broke down; in a tunnel however it still arrived in to Kyoto at its correct time!!!Arrived at our traditional hotel where we sleep on the floor mats. So far we love Kyoto as everone is so nice; we got free day tickets for the subway  from a very nice couple after looking pretty lost, then we got help with directions then we got tea made for us;...
