Mark & Den's Travels
1st July visit to the killing fields Choeung Ek. Arrived yesterday prietty sad place many beggers on the streets most are war victims or land mine victims. our first ride out on the Mopeds (getting used to this now) We are off to visit the killing fields. As we arrive you can just feel the sadness of this place. Our guide was the main man who has shown around Princess Diana which started her campaign against land mines in Cambodia. Man this place is horrible as we wqalk around we are treading on bones and clothes of victims you couldnt avoid doing so!! He showed us many mass graves where they had recovered thousand of bodies.. I took myself off away from this sat on a bench and sobbed my heart out how could this have been inflicted from one human to another. Could not wait to get away for fresh air. I realise this is history but man I just wanted out. To carry on the solemn day next stop was the SO21 was once a school then used for prisoners who suffered many tortures before death or being sent to the fields for more torture and finally death. This was inflicted mainly by children soldiers. Enough of this sorrow Mark and I head for some normality of a snooker hall to the amusement of the locals Women playing snooker NO WAY!! But I showed them how to do it. I stood for a while to listen to their chatting and laughing which was lovely to hear after a day of terror.
