First thing we went for a walk around Griffiths island. This was just over the river and was a grassy island with a lighthouse and lots of resident Wallabies! It reminded us of being in Ireland in some ways! We saw many of the Wallabies and found the lighthouse which was quite old but still in working order!
We then made our way towards the Grampians National Park. We took a detour so that we could go through Winslow!! We stopped in Hamilton for coffee and the tourist information. Once we knew where we were going and what we wanted to see we set off again! Along the way we spotted some Kangaroos in a field beside the road. We stopped to take pics and as we were watching the begin to jump across the field, across the road in front of us and into the next field! We just about managed to film them doing it! The drive through the Grampians was very scenic and many photos were taken! We found our hostel in Halls Gap and checked in and chilled for a bit.
We then set off to explore. There was a lake nearby which was a reservoir and we went to the silverband falls which were just up the road. It was a short walk along a track to the falls but they were quite pretty but very busy! We then went into the town/village of Halls Gap for a mooch and for dinner.
We then decided to go on a bush walk to some rock pools. The walk was lovely and the pools were nice, but the water wasn't that clear. We dipped our feet in the freezing cold water, just long enough for a photo!! There were some great views surrounding us of the cliffs etc.
We saw lots of Kangaroos in the car park, including a Joey!
We then went back to the hostel to make the most of the hot showers as we are going to Fiji tomorrow where it will only be cold showers!!
