We were up at a ridiculous hour! We were collected by a mini bus at 7am to get across to the ferry port for the 8.30am ferry! We were lucky to be able to squeeze breakfast in just in time and a lovely cup of coffee to wake us up! The journey to Phuket town (where the ferry port was) took much longer than expected and we were glad that we didn't go on the bus yesterday! There was not much to the town and it was very busy with rush hour. We boarded our ferry with little hassle, despite having to get across 3 boats to ours with our big bags! Luckily they took pity on me and helped me! We even got free coffee and a croissant on board! The journey took just under 2 hours and was relatively smooth! Once in Ko Phi Phi we were met by one of the guys who worked at the guesthouse who took us there via a long tail boat! We seemed to travel quite far away from the tourist centre, which we later realised to be a good thing! Our resort is at the top of a hill/cliff overlooking long beach, which involves climbing 80 something steps to get to! Luckily our bags were transported up via a cable/pulley cart..unfortunately we weren't allowed to ride in it! It was much bigger and nicer than we thought it would be, especially as many of the reviews had been pretty rubbish! We have a beach hut on stilts overlooking nothing but trees and sea! Tis much better than we had expected! After chillaxing and consuming some lunch we went to explore the beaches. There was one tiny one that you can only access via our resort and it was gorgeous! The water was so clear and the view was amazing! However the tide was coming in quite rapidly so we went to explore the much bigger, long beach. We found sun loungers and parked ourselves up for the rest of the afternoon observing the goings on! The long tail boats that we travelled on to get from the ferry also act as taxi boats as there are no roads here. As a result there are lots of them constantly travelling up and down the island! The beach was beautiful, white sand and then crystal clear water with fish that swim around you even in the shallow water! We could see the uninhabited part of the Ko Phi Phi island from the beach and are considering doing a tour out there as it is where one of Leonardo DiCapro's films was filmed.
After an afternoon on the beach we spent the evening in the bar having dinner and admiring the view from the decking overlooking the rest of the island! Was very picturesque!
When we returned to our hut we met the resident gecko's who we have name Harry and Hermiony!
