We slept reasonably well but were awake early. The train man came and put our beds away and we had seats opposite each other. It was very cold though so we were sat in fleeces and scarves!! We got some odd looks from the Thais!! The train was quiet as many people had got off during the night! We enjoyed mooching at the scenery on the way.
We arrived in Chiang Mai at about 2pm and got a tuk tuk to our guesthouse. Its a lovely guesthouse and is full of local handicrafts which has inspired me to buy some! We went in search of food straight away as we were starving! Not many places were serving food so we ended up in an Italian with a pizza between us! We then went for a mooch around town. We like what we have seen, it is much quieter than most cities and less hassles! We found ourselves wandering through the night bazaar which was full of all sorts of goodies! We are inside the old walled city which is surrounded by a river/moat which is lit up at night and with fountains. We then spent the rest of the evening at the guesthouse and had an early night to catch up on sleep.
