Well, we weren't eaten by crocs and there were none waiting for us when we woke up!
We left Rockhampton quite early as we wanted to get close to Fraser Island as we want to visit there tomorrow! It was a fairly long drive but I was entertained by Mark singing xmas songs!! He keeps singing silent night, and was chuffed when it came on the radio!! Bless him!! Unfortunately we saw lots of dead kangaroos on the road, :( We also saw lots of signs warning of Koalas, but didn't actualy see one though!
While stopped for lunch we were entertained by a group of birds! They were very noisy and very cheeky as they kept trying to come in the camper! We turned a tap on for them as it was hot and they loved it, they were having baths and showers in it!! hehe! We also saw our first cargo train! It was huge, but nothing compared with the ones in America! Prob only half the size!
We arrived in Hervey bay mid afternoon and found a lovely campsite on the beach front! We got a good pitch and could see the sea again! :) We booked a tour to Fraser Island for tomorrow, and after chatting for ages with the owners who are from Ireland and London, we went a chilled on the beach and messed about in the sea! The owners told us that some friendly possums visit the park in the evenings so we're keeping an eye open for them!!
Not sure if we have mentioned about the geckos! We first saw one in Cairns and were unsure of them but now we see them every day! They are always around in the evenings and we have grown to like them! Maybe a future pet?!
Early night as we have a very early start tomorrow!!
