Surprisingly enough..we were both wide awake at 7am n ready 2 go exploring! Found the hostel kitchen and was impressed with the breakfast selection..which was free!! woop! Filled up then set off for exploring! There was bright sunshine n clear blue skies! Hope it continues like this!
We headed for the CN tower as this was quite close to our hostel! Tis HUGE!! We decided that we should go up it whilst the weather was so good so off we trundled! Luckily there was a lift to the top so no climbing stairs...although once in the lift I wished there were stairs! The lift was quick, scary and you could look out through the windows and down through the glass floor!! Very scary stuff!! On the way up the man was explaining where to go for what views etc..but he failed to mention how we could back out if we wanted to..hmmmm!! Once up the top though..it was amazing!! You could see for miles and miles and the buildings are pretty impressive! They're all different and stand out from each other and the city seems to spread so far..defo more impressive than London! We stayed inside for a bit before venturing to find the glass floor..the one where you look down to the ground..Mark was defo more excited about this than me! It made me feel quite queasy looking at it..let alone through it!! Mark built up his confidence to stand on it...and lay on it..yet I was less enthusiastic and it took a lot of encouraging from Mark and 45 mins for me to stand on it..and that was without looking down!! Mark reckons he's building me up for the Grand Canyon sky walk..we'l see about that!!
We then made our way down from the world's tallest building..and headed for Lake Ontario which is beautiful! The area surrounding it is well looked after and you can see across to the city airport..which looks like it is in the middle of the lake! We then got some lunch and sat in the park by the lake watching some fighter jets doing acrobatics in the sky! Quite impressive!
From here we headed into Downtown Toronto where we discovered more remarkable buildings and finally..some shops! Shame the shopping has to wait till New York because there were lots of nice pretty things to buy! We spent the afternoon exploring, looking..ooooing and errrring! We are both impressed with Toronto...and both have sore necks from looking up at all the buildings!!
Off 2 bed now 2 rest our tootsies! Wil try and upload some pics tomorrow..website is playin up!
