We got up quite late, partly because the bed was too comfy and we were watching tv! We had seen on the weather that it was going to be windy but nothing prepared us for what awaited us outside!! With the 30’c heat came up to 25mph winds!! Was an interesting day, took us twice as long to walk anywhere!!
Anyway, we are staying on Freemont street which is further down than the main strip and is like a mini version of it with lots of things happening, entertainment and of course, casinos!! There is a sort of roof to it, and my big bro has just informed me, that it is the world’s largest plasma screen! It’s pretty cool, apart from you end up with a sore neck from looking up all the time!
We mooched down Freemont street and got breakie! We decided to walk to the strip which took a while but worth it in the end! Was very hot though!! The strip itself is rather snazzy! We saw some of it as we came in last night on the coach when it was all lit up. The buildings are really impressive and so well looked after! We couldn’t believe how many hotels there are, with so many hundreds of rooms, and how they all stay in business. We soon realized how, because there are so many people in the Casinos, at all times of the day!! Even first thing this morning they were busy!!
We mooched along the strip, oooooing and arghiiiiing at all the posh hotels, casinos and shops. Many of the hotels are linked by walk ways which makes it easier! We found the Lamborghini garage but they charged $10 to go in!! We saw the stratosphere which is an observation tower and further down there is the Eiffel tower replica. There were legs of the Eiffel tower in the building below..see pics!! As we are in Las Vegas we had to have a go in the casino’s..something that both of us are neither bothered by or understand much about! We inserted $1 into a machine, pressed 2 buttons and our game was over!! It was as simple as that!! Needless to say we didn’t bother again!!
We mooched around for a bit before heading back to the hotel for a nap and a shower. We went back to the strip to see everything lit up. We thought it would be quite cheesy but it was far from it! Everything is so well thought out and looked after. We watched a fountain display to music which we videoed, we will try and put it up. We mooched along most of the strip to see all the hotels and casinos. You walk through many of the hotels and they are rather posh!!
We had quite a late night, but it had to be done in Vegas! Weather forecast says there is a storm coming, hopefully we’ll miss it.
We will be home 3 weeks today (tues)! Can’t believe how quickly it has gone!!!
Arghhhhh!!! I have just uploaded a photo album and tagged all the pictures, and then it lost them all!! Grrr!!
