We both slept really well and both like the hostel. It has a very chilled relaxed feel about it. The weather forecast was looking good and it was clear blue skies out with only a few faint clouds.
We caught the bus to pacific beach which was about half an hour away so got to see more of the city and got to watch the weather change! The nearer we got to the beach the cloudier it became and by the time we arrived there wasn't a blue bit of sky to be seen! Neither of us were impressed but we stuck it out for a few hours as it was still warm and the sun showed its face every now and then. As we had a day pass for the bus, we went up to La Holla beach which is a prettier beach just north of Pacific beach. It was a very natural beach with big rocks everywhere but it seemed more of a locals beach and was in a posh area of the housing estate. There were lots of expensive cars outside houses and a Lamborghini drove past us..could be because there was a Lamborghini garage up the road, as well as a Bentley one! Some very nice looking cars! We grabbed some grub and headed for downtown.
We popped back to the hostel to shower and de-sun cream and headed out to explore. The city is gorgeous and very clean. It made such a change from LA! We went down to the waterfront and walked along which was lovely as there were lots of restaurants and shops. There were some huge boats and we had a lovely view across of the peninsula. We had a mooch around before heading back towards town and through gaslamp which is a trendy area with lots of nice bars and restaurants.
We both like San Diego and have been pleasantly surprised!!
