FAMILIA NÚMERO DOS
So I have now been with the Ederra Fernandez family for a week and I have really enjoyed this week. This house is warm, and doesn't smell of tobacco but it is kind of far from my school and the centre of the city and lacks really hot water. It's about half an hour on the bus to get to school so I'm leaving my house at the time I used to get out of bed. Now with being back at school and having this very active family I go to bed earlier and waking up isn't a problem at all. I feel good. I do miss my other family though and plan to visit Friday's when I teach english at their neighbours house but that's close to an hour each way with switching busses and organizing stop times.
My new dad, Jesús Maria, has a black belt in I think three or four different types of martial arts and is a butcher. Aka torso + arms = enormous. He cooks really well, lots of meat, and teaches different classes throughout the week, mainly jiu jitsu which I now do Tuesdays and Thursdays.
New mom Yolanda is really sweet. I like talking to her a lot and she's lent me some books to read, we get along well. Her ring tone is Single Ladies and yesterday I spent the day shopping with her and her friends in another city.
Jon is fifteen and plays fútbol. He's the goalie and I'm pretty sure his team is pretty good, but I haven't watched yet. He's really nice and is in my jiu jitsu class too.
Iñaki… oh this child. Day one this nine year old boy showed me how to make coffee. He doesn't keep anything to himself and entertains us all day long with stories so he's easy to talk to. He also plays fútbol and is super cute. Tonight he kept pointing at me and saying "pendientes hippie!" (hippie earrings!), he's a fun one.
My grandmother is quite the character. Jesús has four younger sisters, all of whom are really nice, and their mother is ver sweet. She has Alzheimer's and I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember my name. She calls Matt Gaffas (glasses) and me Guapa. She has pink/orange lipstick that she wears heavily and has many facial expressions and moods that change quickly. She laughs often though and tells lots of jokes.
Matt lived here before me and did not want to leave, he actually still comes over once in a while. This family loves him and I feel a little pressure having to follow him but I know I'll have a good time here. I hope my old family misses me though - at least a little. Having more than one family is good but very strange.

Darlene Barr Sounds like a good start! Can't wait to hear the stories about your new sport :-) and little monkey brother! Is the lack of hot water a common thing in your area or is it temporary? I canNOT imagine that your first family doesn't miss you already!!!!!!
