VIAJE TERCERO DÍA
The third day of the trip was Sevilla; we actually had the whole day there. In the morning we went on an excursion to tour a UNESCO heritage site. It was a palace but I really don't remember anything the tour guide said (I think it's interesting that at the mosque with the amazing tour guide I am able to remember the whole story but with the dull one I couldn't even pay attention; it's like the school system…) and I ended teaming up with Greg in the boys goal for the day. The boys have goals, and they just spend the day entertaining themselves with it. Yesterdays goal was entertaining to everyone else though too. The goal was to get a photo with a creepy old guy in Spain. Hearing Greg on the bus talking about how he wished he could find two guys sitting on a bench and just site between them or pose funnily by a crazy man inspired me. Quickly the other guys realized they had no chance winning with me being a creative director and Greg being who he is. So the morning was spent running around the different parts of the palace and posing in different ways to stealthily take a photo that included an old man. I now have over thirty photos of Greg from Florida and his Friends that just all in all made my day. Be patient for the facebook album.
Then we had the whole day free in Sevilla so a group of us eight girls went out for lunch. Mika had been here before so we decided to go to the nice Arabic restaurant she had eaten at before. It was so interesting the design and atmosphere in the restaurant. It ended up being italian food and I don't believe I've enjoyed a meal as much since arriving to Spain. We started with garlic bread which actually had pesto on it and sangria. Delicious. Then I ordered a pasta dish that had a tomato cream sauce with shrimp, zucchini and mushrooms, we also shared a bit to taste all the other gorgeous looking plates. Scrumptious. We were stuffed but convinced to go all out for this meal so we ordered desert. My friend Molly and I shared a tea and chocolate cake from mint paradise. The tea had real mint leaves in it and would cure anything and the chocolate cake had a green mint sauce on it and was to die for. Orgasmic. And it turned out to only be like 15euros each which surprised me.
After the amazing food we climbed the tower of the cathedral that holds Christopher Columbus' tomb which was I think 34 floors with enormous bells at the top where you could look out over all of Sevilla. A lot of buildings had swimming pools on the roof which was king of cool. Then we did a bit of shopping and Molly calls me a practical shopper. I bought socks, and umbrella (forecast is for rain), a headband and a black dress that's really cute. I wore the dress out and it was a fun but dramatic night. I definitely cannot go out every night on his trip.
Sevilla was supposed to be the big party area (the first of them) but I'll remember it for the food, and ridiculous amounts of tourist shops with flamenco costumes and jewelry.
