Marie's Big Adventure
Sadly the time has come for me to leave Africa, I have been on the continent for 5 months now and can hardly believe I am moving on. I have spent more than two months now in South Africa and can say it has been one of the best times of my life, I spent 7 weeks just in Cape Town meeting some of the best people I could have hoped to have meet and taking in the feel of the place, so much so that it started to feel like home and I can honestly say I will miss the place very much.
After Cape Town I travelled by car (with my friend Katy from back home) and stopped off at Hermanus, Swellendam, Knysna, Plettenburg Bay, Storms River, Jeffreys Bay and Port Elizabeth on our way to stay with some of her family in Johannesburg. It has been something of a whistlestop tour but we managed to fit in some horse riding along the beach, a waterfall trek and a stop at the most bug ridden hostel you can imagine.
Tomorrow I will board a plane, bound for Sydney, Australia and eventually Auckland, New Zeland where a whole new part of my journey begins!
Many Thanks to the following people for helping make my stay in Cape Town THE BEST!
Kristy, Adam, Paul & Andy (for looking after me when I was a CT newbie).
Matt & Alex (keep up the double act guys!).
Katie S. (for dragging me up table mountain and some excellent card playing)
Chris S. (for making even me look sober on the wine tour)
Karen K. (for the long drunken evenings)
Lyn & Jodie (for bringing a bit of entertainment to the place).
Tom, Garth & Patrick (for being the best hostel staff a girl could ask for).
Cheers!
