Well I have arrived safe and well in Egypt, flights went really smoothly and I had a taxi waiting for me when I arrived at Cairo airport all as planned, thought my luck was up however when the cars started playing dodgem with each other and was well pleased with my decision to sit in the backseat, away from possible catastrophy. Also very pleased that I made a rough attempt at touch typing before i came out here as most of the letters on this keyboard have been worn away and my success at typing feels like more luck than judgement! I arrived to find loads of people chatting away in the hotel foyer and they're all on my trip so have made some new friends already, what a relief! Going out for a drink later on, someone has posted a notice up on the board so most of us will be heading out I expect. People seem really nice so far. Still trying to get over the paranoia that we will get mugged and expect we will all have relaxed considerably in a few days time. It turns out we should have already got some of our visas sorted, though no one thought to tell anyone on the trip about this so tomorrow is going to be a mad trip about the embassies to get those sorted. Weather was pretty good earlier, heat is bearable but it is really smoggy and dusty around here.
